The Draeger X-zone 5000 is a state-of-the-art area monitoring system that uses wireless technology to create a reliable and flexible safety network to monitor for gas hazards in a wide range of industrial applications. Some industry applications are for fence line monitoring or hole watch. They are used in combination with the Draeger X-am 5000 & X-am 5600 personal gas detection instruments, the X-zone 5000 bridges the gap between portable and stationary gas monitoring devices.
The X-zone 5000 is a sturdy, weatherproof unit that can be set up to create a wireless fence line alarm system for area monitoring. Draeger X-am 5000 or X-am 5600 personal monitors are plugged into the X-zone units which automatically communicate with each other through wireless technology. Using the patented DrägerSensors®, the monitor continuously measures for up to six toxic gases and warns workers when harmful concentrations are present. Placed at locations where a gas leak could occur, the X-zone 5000 system can connect up to 25 units in a continuous alarm fence. Units should be placed at a distance of 20 – 25 meters to ensure safe area monitoring. Roughly the size of a shop vac, the transportable units measure 20 x 12 x 12 inches and weigh 15 – 22 lbs.
Battery-operated units provide continuous operation, rated for up to 120 hours with 30 minutes of alarm operation per day, with no external power source required.
